  • White paper pattern pieces for a garment pinned to a corkboard, showing collar, sleeve, and bodice shapes.

    Pattern Cutting

Creative pattern cutting is at the heart of Studio lole. Working from sketches, technical drawings, reference garments, or draped concepts, I develop patterns using both manual and digital techniques, with a strong focus on fit, silhouette, proportion, and construction.

Each pattern is developed with production in mind, balancing creativity with technical precision while considering ways to reduce waste. Digital patterns can be supplied in PLT and DXF formats for industry-standard CAD software.

  • Open sketchbooks filled with fashion design sketches, technical drawings, and handwritten fabric notes.

    Design Consultancy

From initial ideas through to production, I offer creative and technical support throughout the design process. Whether you're developing a new collection, refining a design, or preparing garments for manufacture, I work closely with you to bring your ideas to life.

  • 3D digital garment simulation of a brown coat alongside its corresponding flat pattern pieces.

    CLO3D Digital Prototyping

Using CLO3D, garments can be developed and refined digitally before sampling. It allows fit, silhouette, and construction to be explored early in the process, helping reduce physical samples and supporting a more considered approach to garment development.

  • White calico toile pinned and marked with red guidelines on a dressmaker's mannequin, showing draped fabric at the shoulder.

    Toile Development

Toiles are an important part of the development process, allowing designs to be tested and refined before production.

Through fittings and pattern adjustments, I refine the fit, balance, and construction before moving into sampling or manufacture. See some examples of recent Toiles.

  • Close-up of a yellow draped garment on a mannequin with construction lines marked for pattern reference.

    Technical Drawings & Tech Packs

Technical drawings and tech packs provide manufacturers with the information needed to produce garments accurately. I create clear technical drawings, measurement charts, construction notes, and garment specifications to support sampling and production.

  • Hand-drawn pattern pieces on tracing paper with construction lines, curves, and measurement annotations.

    Teaching

Studio lole also offers teaching and mentoring in creative pattern cutting, garment development, and digital workflows. Sessions are tailored to students, designers, and small teams, combining traditional pattern cutting with contemporary digital techniques.
